Once they fought for the championship title in the Prva liga Telemach, now they will be teammates in BiH: Aleks Pihler welcomed Stefan Savić to Banja Luka
They were part of some of the most epic battles in the history of Slovenian top-tier football, and now, 300 kilometers away from Slovenia, they will share the same locker room. At Borac, the team that won the national championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina this year and is soon to face Albanian team Egnatia, another player who left a mark in the Prva liga Telemach has joined the ranks. After Aleks Pihler, a long-time member of Maribor, signed a contract in Banja Luka, so did Stefan Savić, a former member of Olimpija.
30-year-old Stefan Savić, who wore the jersey of the club from Ljubljana for three years and during that time won both the championship title and the cup winner’s trophy, moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina after ending his stint with the Polish club Warta Poznan. Prior to that, he also played in Poland for Wisla Krakow and spent some time in Turkey with Tuzlaspor. The winger, born in Salzburg, Austria, played in Netherlands for Roda and in Croatia for Slaven before arriving at Stožice, and he developed his skills in the Red Bull system on home soil.
