Fans celebrate first point, management holds on to their heads: Rogaška loses around 50,000 euros for every game it doesn’t play at home
Rogaška
played a home match last weekend, but did not organise it in Rogaška Slatina. Work on the stadium has not yet been completed, so Rogaska had to
Maribor
to host the match in Krško. This was not too big an obstacle for Oskar Drobnet’ s squad, but they still got a big point against the Purples. But while the fans cheered, the club’s management held its head. Instead of counting their earnings after a well-attended home game, the leading men will have to foot the hefty bill for organising a match at the Matija Gubec Stadium.
“Logistics are the biggest problem. We sent three trucks to Krško for the match against Maribor. We have to organise and organise everything ourselves, because Krško has not been among the elite for some time. Let’s say there are no safety fences in Krško. Organising a match in Krško costs us around 10 000. The loss is even greater if you add how much we would have earned if we had, say, played Maribor in our own stadium, which would have been sold out. We estimate that we lose €50k for every game we don’t play in our own stadium,“, explained Nino Ivačič, Sports Director of the Nino Ivačič Sports Club, to Navijaško zona.
As the works in Rogaška Slatina are not finished yet, Rogaška will be Radomlje – the match will take place on 3. September – hosted by Krško, and expected to make its stadium debut 23. Septembera, when they face Murska Sobota‘s Mura.
